Craig and Kristen :: New York City | OMG! I have been wanting to share these photos with you….since before I even took them! LOL In April I had the chance to travel to New York City and shoot Craig and Kristen’s Engagement Session. Before I go into ALL the amazing details, let me give you some back story. Back in the day before Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and all those other popular Social Media websites there was Livejournal. If you were online..you had one. It’s kind of like an online diary with a mix of Facebook/twitter. You had your own personal live journal where you could post photos and write about whatever you wanted…then you could “follow” or “like” others journals where you could see their posts. Then there were also group live journals where you joined if you shared some of the same interests. I joined a live journal that was for Kurt Halsey Fans and that is where I met Kristen. I’m not sure exactly how long ago this was…but guessing I would say sometime in the late 90′s early 2000′s. Anyways, from there we “followed” each others live journal and eventually other social media websites came along like Facebook and we continued to stay up to date with each others lives and be online friends.

Then fast forward to 2011 and I get an email from Kristen telling me that her and Corner (her nickname for Craig) were engaged and they wanted me to travel to Michigan to shoot their wedding! I was SOOO excited and of course said ABSOLUTELY!!! But then…I realized they lived in NYC now and with their busy schedules I knew that I wasn’t going to get a chance to work with them before the wedding. (Sidenote: I LOVE LOVE LOVE engagement sessions. I prefer my clients to ALWAYS book an engagement session with me, even if you don’t want any of the photos. It really helps us get to know each other and for the couple to get used to me shooting them and for me to see how the couple interacts with each other. It really prepares both of us for the wedding day.) So, I was pretty bummed that even though we “knew” each other online, I didn’t know her personally and I knew nothing about Craig except for what he looked like through photos of him on her Facebook. Then while we were talking on the phone we both had the same idea at the same time… Why don’t I just go to NYC and shoot their engagement session? So..I did! haha

Enjoy some of my favorites from their session… I seriously want to go back to NYC RIGHT THIS SECOND and shoot another engagement session. I have fell in love with the city and I am hoping to get the opportunity to go back and shoot there again sometime soon.

As Craig would say “This is SO not New York..” LOL I know sitting on the subway steps is totally not normal for people in NYC…haha but it made a GREAT SHOT! This is definitely one of my favorites from the day.

This was a bakery in Astoria…and it was SO AMAZING. I had a glass of milk and a warm chocolate chip cookie. Omg..I would totally fly back to NYC just for this place!

Kristen is a member of Gotham Girls Roller Derby and she is on the Queens of Pain team so we definitely had to incorporate some skates during the engagement session. And…I got super lucky because there was this awesome graffiti wall in their neighborhood that we used. LOVE IT!

Corner & Kristen :: You guys are awesome! I had so much fun exploring the city with you (and learning lots of history lessons from Craig about the city). I hope you guys are as happy with the photos as I am and I can’t wait for the wedding! xoxo

Married:: Victoria and Eric | St. Patrick’s Day Wedding

Eric and Victoria :: Indianapolis, Indiana | I had the pleasure of shooting a SUPER fun wedding on St. Patrick’s Day this year. With Eric and Tori being in Indianapolis we did all the booking/planning over the phone instead of in person. Most of the time I prefer to meet with the bride and groom before hand just to make sure we are a good match…however with everyone’s work schedule it just wasn’t possible. So….we all took a leap of faith hoping that we were the right fit for everyone. And…luckily it paid off. Eric and Victoria were so fun and outgoing and really just enjoyed the day. No stress, No drama, nothing. Just them with their family (and crazy dads) and friends…having a party. Enjoy some of my favorite from the day…

Eric and Victoria :: We had a blast with you guys!!! Your bridal party and family (especially your dads) were SO MUCH FUN! Since we didn’t get to take advantage of an engagement session we should definitely set up a fun session for your one year anniversary!! Congrats! xoxo

Married:: Alysha and Jordan | Tiffany Blue and Black Wedding

Alysha and Jordan :: Terre Haute, Indiana | Alysha and Jordan were married on a SUPER cold day in March. The week or so before the wedding the weather was in the 60′s and sometimes even 70′s and then the night before their wedding a cold front moved in and the temperature dropped down into the 30′s as a high. It was so ridiculously cold…but that didn’t stop us from having fun and getting some great shots.

This was definitely the hardest wedding I had ever shot because just 24 hours before my grandpa had passed away after a grueling 17 days of being home on hospice and me and my family being by his side 24/7. However, I couldn’t have asked for a better couple/bridal party/family/vendors to work with that day. I’m not even sure if anyone knew that I was going thru that at the time..but either way everyone was so amazing to work with that day….and the day went by without a hitch. Enjoy some of my favorites from the day and I’ll tell you the story about my grandpa on another day. :o)

Jordan and Alysha :: Thank you for being so amazing. From the first time I met you all the way until we said goodbyes at the wedding you guys were nothing but super sweet and amazing. I wish you guys nothing but the best. And..whether you knew it or not you guys definitely helped me get thru one of the toughest days of my life….and for that I’ll never forget you. <3 xoxo

Senior:: Boyd | North Central High School

Boyd is a 2012 Senior at North Central High School in Farmersburg where he plays Football. I met up with him on a windy afternoon a couple of weeks ago to get his senior photos taken since graduation is right around the corner. Enjoy some of my favorites.

He even brought his girlfriend along for some photos too!

Senior :: Rachel | Sullivan High School Senior

Rachel is one of our Sullivan High School Senior Reps for the Class of 2012. You can view her first session from last summer here! She is a busy girl who plays school sports all year long so we had to wait a while until she got some free time to finish up with her second session. I LOVE the way all the photos from both sessions turned out..but I think this session might have most of my favorites. Enjoy!
